The Walt Disney
Imagineering Fan Club - Welcome Message
Hello and welcome to our new web page. I have to say that
I am pleased with the way it turned out (finally). We
have spent several weeks (actually months now) working on
what features we would offer and what format we would
convey and I hope that you, the readers, enjoy it.
As you all know this website has been created to give
you, the fans of Imagineering, a chance to catch up on
some news and events, but also give you an inside look at
what goes on down there. We promise to give it our best
effort!
As my friends will tell you [you have friends? - Jason],
I am always open to criticism or advice. As I said it
took months before I finally decided which format to go
with, and if you have any questions or comments about the
work going on here let me know by emailing me at wdifan@aol.com .
Thank you for stopping by!
Page Updates: April - 2000
Ok I know I said that I was happy with the way the page
turned out, but that was last month. There have been lots
of changes and additions to the page since then.
First off though, let me tell you about some of the
wonderful additions we have this month. Kevin Yee has
graciously donated a review of the "Walt
Disney Imagineering" book for us. We've also added a
wonderful document called "The
WDI Backgrounder"
which explains some of the aspects of Walt Disney
Imagineering. Unfortunately because of time constraints
and problems with approval, this month's edition will not
feature an Imagineering interview. But don't worry, doing
the interviews turns out to be great fun and we have a
great one lined up for next month!
Second is the expansion of the Fan
Club pages. The
"Before and After" and "Picture
of the Month"
sections have been moved here, as this will become home
of some of the more lighthearted aspects of the fan club.
We're also going to host our favorite quotes and files
here as well.
We've also added an archive feature that will list past and current
features so easy access to older material from the
website.
And finally we've moved the Quizlet feature to it's own page to make it easier
for guests to find and also to allow for the recording of
results onto the page.
If enough people are interested we can look into adding a
message board to the page.
Oh and for those wondering, the page update was postponed
until April so that we could hopefully get into the habit
of having it updated on the first of the month.
Page Updates and Welcome: June -
2000
Hello and welcome back!
If you have been visiting often, you will have noticed
that over the last couple of months we've been trying out
some different ideas and features for our website. And
now I want your opinions. While the focus of our website
will always be the Imagineers and the art of
Imagineering, we also try to provide some other features
that aren't readily available on the Internet, and would
like to know what you personally would like to see on
this website. We'd also like to know which features we
offer that you enjoy and which ones you feel are lacking.
If you have the time, go ahead and send an email to wdifan@aol.com
or, if it's more
convenient, you can used the AOL Instant Messenger to
contact me using the screen name "MrLiver" (as
long as you don't ask me WHY I have that name).
As a fan club website, we're trying our best to
accommodate the wishes of all the members of this
wonderful fan club, who, through their infinite amount of
tolerance, have put up with our sarcastic and sometimes
annoyingly witty attitude toward Imagineering. Rest
assured
we love you all.
Oh and on a more relaxed note. Jason and I will e at
Disneyland to celebrate it's 45th Anniversary (as I'm
sure MANY of you will be as well). Jason said I was
insane, but I thought it would be a nice idea to invite
the aforementioned WONDERFUL members of the fan club to a
little meeting. Until we know more about any Imagineering
signings (hopefully not unlike last years little foray)
we can just plan for a little brunch meeting to discuss
the art of Imagineering.
Let me know how many are interested!
